خلاصه داستان (فارسی)

لارس که به شدت خجالتی است، دوست پیدا کردن یا معاشرت کردن را غیرممکن می‌داند. برادر و خواهر همسرش نگران او هستند، بنابراین وقتی اعلام می‌کند که دوست دختری دارد که در اینترنت با او آشنا شده، آنها بسیار خوشحال می‌شوند. اما معشوقه جدید لارس، یک زن پلاستیکی در اندازه واقعی است. به توصیه پزشک، خانواده و بقیه جامعه با این توهم او همراه می‌شوند.

Synopsis (English)

Extremely shy Lars finds it impossible to make friends or socialize. His brother and sister-in-law worry about him, so when he announces that he has a girlfriend he met on the Internet, they are overjoyed. But Lars' new lady is a life-size plastic woman. On the advice of a doctor, his family and the rest of the community go along with his delusion.
