وقتی سرباز رابین به طور اتفاقی رابرت اهل لاکسلی را که در حال مرگ است، می‌بیند، قول می‌دهد شمشیر مرد را به خانواده‌اش در ناتینگهام بازگرداند. در آنجا، او هویت رابرت را به خود می‌گیرد؛ با بیوه او، ماریون، رابطه عاشقانه برقرار می‌کند و خشم کلانتر شهر و نوچه شاه جان، گادفری، را برمی‌انگیزد.

Synopsis (English)

When soldier Robin happens upon the dying Robert of Loxley, he promises to return the man's sword to his family in Nottingham. There, he assumes Robert's identity; romances his widow, Marion; and draws the ire of the town's sheriff and King John's henchman, Godfrey.
